The Balloon

The Balloon was the first ever animation that I made. Each frame was either hand drawn or hand moved and was created using both Photoshop and iMovie. The film is based off a true story of a girl who lost her dad at a young age and on his birthday sets off balloons on top of a hill. When she arrives home later on that day, she finds the same balloons on her doorstep.

The film is true to the actual events and ends by showing photos of the balloons taken on the day.

This film took many weeks to make as all of this was done by hand and as you can see in the film it could do with some improvements but as a result of my first ever animation, I will always be proud of this first attempt and achievement.

My goal here at University and at the end of my studies, is to remake this film with my new knowledge and better understanding in order to see my progression over the years.

This story is very personal and close to my heart so I hope you enjoy it.
