Toy Story - Freshers Week Drawing Task

Freshers Week Drawing Task
During freshers week, I was asked to make a range of drawings which focus on a toy in different scenarios, drawing a new one each day. As the task was called Toy Story, I wanted to create not just sketches, but a story in which to present the freshers week.
I thought it would be helpful to firstly draw out the toy in order to get an idea of how to create the different textures and shapes within the material and body.
On the first day, I presented the bear looking out of the window and looking at the new surrounds from my room. This represented the new surroundings that I had to get used to in the first week.
On the second day, I wanted to draw an example of one of the typical stereotypes of University Freshers weeks by having the bear on top of a shelf, with an empty bottle next to it.
Next, I wanted to show how the bear could be exploring its new surroundings still including places such as a wardrobe which is shown through him sitting in a dress on a coat hanger.
Another scenario I created was the bear head first into a biscuit tin. This was to create the impression of how students have to start making their own food but may have been tempted to just say in their rooms and ear junk instead.
For this image, I wanted to experiment with how I could create the impression of a reflection, so I sat the bear in front of a mirror at an angle where I could draw both its front and back.
The last image shows the end of the week where the bear has finally gone to bed. I thought this would be a good image to end on because in a way in rounds up the story.
